An
instructor can provide an implicit reason why a student does not have a score
for a grade item by utilizing grade exemptions. A blank grade or a zero (0)
grade can mean that the student has not submitted or attempted the assessment,
the assessment has not been graded by the professor, or that the student has
failed the assessment entirely. Utilizing an exemption setting supports
differentiation for a legitimate exemption. This tutorial demonstrates how to
create multiple grade exemptions for a single student in MyFIRE.
1. Access
the desired course.
2. Select grades in the navigation bar.
3. Then
select enter grades.
4. Locate
the specified student’s name who should receive the exemptions.
5. Select
the drop-down arrow to the right of the student’s name.
6. Then
select bulk edit exemptions.
7. Select
the checkbox to the right of the grade items for which the student
should be exempt.
8. Select save and close at the bottom of page.
9. When
the page refreshes, the Enter Grades page appear. The grade items that were
exempt will show exempt in the grade cell for the specified
student.
