MyFIRE offers the option of adding resources to courses. Adding links to library articles provides students with quick access to content that is applicable to their courses. This tutorial demonstrates how to link a library resource to a course in MyFIRE.

 

1.        Navigate to the Library webpage: https://library-seu-edu.seu.idm.oclc.org/home/start

2.        Select the desired database by selecting Articles & Databases at the top of the page.

3.        When the page refreshes, locate the desired database by selecting a general database or choosing a database from the database drop-down menu.

4.        Search for the desired article(s) in the database(s).

5.        Once the desired article has been located, select Permalink on the right-hand side of the page.

6.        Once selected, a permalink bar will appear at the top of the page linking the direct permalink. Copy the link.

7.        In MyFIRE, navigate to the desired content location in a course by selecting the Content & Assessment tab in the navigation bar at the top of the page.

8.        Locate and select the module where you would like to add the library resource.

9.        Select Create New.

10.  Select WebLink.

11.  The page will refresh. Provide a Web Link Title.

12.  Add a due date and description if desired. These fields are not required to add the link.

13.  Paste the link in the External Link field.

14.  If you would like to add a start date, end date, or release conditions to the link, select the Availability Dates & Conditions drop-down menu.

15.  Select the Display & Completion drop-down menu.

16.  Choose to either have the link open in a new tab, or be embedded on the page. We recommend having the link open in a new tab.

17.  Choose for the link to be marked as complete either automatically when opened, or be manually marked by the learner.

18.  Select Save & Close at the bottom of the screen.
