MyFIRE offers the option of adding resources to courses.
Adding links to library articles provides students with quick access to content
that is applicable to their courses. This tutorial demonstrates how to link a
library resource to a course in MyFIRE.
1. Navigate to the Library webpage: https://library-seu-edu.seu.idm.oclc.org/home/start
2. Select the desired database by selecting Articles & Databases at the top of the page.
3. When the page refreshes, locate the desired
database by selecting a general database or choosing a database from the
database drop-down menu.
4. Search for the desired article(s) in the
database(s).
5. Once the desired article has been located,
select Permalink on the right-hand side of the page.
6. Once selected, a permalink bar will appear at
the top of the page linking the direct permalink. Copy the link.
7. In MyFIRE, navigate to the desired content
location in a course by selecting the Content & Assessment tab in the
navigation bar at the top of the page.
8. Locate and select the module where you would
like to add the library resource.
9. Select Create New.
10. Select
WebLink.
11. The
page will refresh. Provide a Web Link Title.
12. Add
a due date and description if desired. These fields are not required to add the
link.
13. Paste
the link in the External Link field.
14. If
you would like to add a start date, end date, or release conditions to the
link, select the Availability Dates & Conditions drop-down menu.
15. Select
the Display & Completion drop-down menu.
16. Choose
to either have the link open in a new tab, or be embedded on the page. We
recommend having the link open in a new tab.
17. Choose
for the link to be marked as complete either automatically when opened, or be
manually marked by the learner.
18. Select
Save & Close at the bottom of the screen.
