Content and Assignments

In this section, we will highlight the difference between Content options in the New Content Experience versus the Classic experience.

Modules and Submodules

In the New Content Experience, a Module is called a Unit and a Submodule is called a Lesson.

To add a Module/Unit, you will select "+ New Unit," as shown below.

To add a Submodule/Lesson, you will click on the Module/Unit, select "Create New," and then select "New Lesson."

Create and Add Content

In the New Content Experience, you have two main options for developing content: "Add Existing" or "Create New." Adding existing content means you are uploading pre-built items like presentations or files. Creating new content means you are developing a new item or assignment.

Adding existing items means you are embedding previously created assignments, documents, or external tools.

Creating new allows you to author and design course lessons or activities directly from content. For instance, you can create a new assignment, lesson, or document, or add a weblink.

Edit Content

In the new content experience, you will use the three dots in top right of content to edit any content items, including assignments, discussions, and quizzes.

Edit Assignments, Discussions, & Quizzes

To edit activities in the new content experience, select the activity and then select "Edit Activity."
