Assessment of Individual Post
Assessment
of individual posts will calculate all the scores of the topics and responses
made by a student within the discussion forum into one overall score for each
student. This tutorial demonstrates how to enable the assessment of individual
posts in a discussion forum.
1. Locatethe course you want to enable
assessments of individual posts in.
2. Select
the Instructor Tools tab in the navigation bar at the top of the page.
3. Select
the Course Admin tab in the navigation bar at the top of the page.
4. Select Discussions from the Communication options.
5. Locate the discussion you want to enable the assessment of
individual posts in and click on the drop-down arrow next to the title.
6. Select Edit Topic.
7. When the page refreshes, select the Evaluation & Feedback drop-down menu in the side panel. Once selected, the section will expand.
8. Scroll down to Evaluate Posts and check the box
for Allow assessment of individual posts.
9. Next, select the Calculation drop-down menu.
10. In the drop-down menu, select Sum of post scores.
a. This will calculate all the scores of the topics and responses
made by a student within the discussion forum into one overall score for each
student
11. Select Save and Close at the bottom of the page.
