The
Instructional Design & Technology department (ID&T) may utilize SCORM
files (shareable content object reference model) to deliver and build course
content and activities in courses based on the course writer’s or ID&T’s
discretion. SCORM files allow students the ability to interact with the software
and content, and the student interactions can be captured and tracked. This
tutorial demonstrates how to view student content interactions through SCORM
data in MyFIRE.
Note:Under the content
tab, if the SCORM only allows for one attempt and the student fails an attempt,
the content tracking on the Content & Assessments page will not be checked
off to show that the student has completed the SCORM. If the SCORM has multiple
attempts, the students will need to continue to complete the SCORM questions
until they pass and the SCORM will be checked off. If multiple attempts are
needed, please contact idtsupport@seu.edu.
1. Navigate
to the desired course in MyFIRE.
2. Select
the content & assessments tab at the top of the page.
3. When
the page refreshes, select table of contents on the left side of the
screen.
4. Then
at the top of the page, select related tools.
5. A
drop-down menu will appear. Select view reports.
6. When
the page refreshes again, select SCORM reports at the top of the
page.
7. When
the page refreshes, a list of available SCORMs will be displayed under the
Content tab. From this page, an overview of all SCORM attempts will be visible,
including the title, file type, total attempts, total
completions, the number of passed attempts, the average score of the total attempts, and the average time spent (in seconds).
a. Select the title of the desired SCORM from the list.
b. When the page
refreshes, a list of students who have attempted the SCORM will appear. From
this page, users may view students’ progress, status, score, attempts, time spent (in seconds), and last accessed date.
i. If the classlist is
long, instructors can search students by name in the search bar. Type
the student’s full name including capitalizations as the search is case
sensitive.
c. Select the desired student’s
name to view an overview of the specified student’s attempts.
d. When the page
refreshes, instructors can view a summary of the student’s attempts including
the last accessed dates and times, progress, status, and score.
e. To view the student’s
answer selections, select interactions above the list.
f. From the interactions
page, instructors will be able to view the identifier question, the question
type, the question description, the correct answer for the question, the
student’s response, the number of attempts per question, the result, the weight
of the question, and latency (the time between when a student views
and answers the question). Note: The interactions page will include
data from all of the student’s combined attempts if more than one attempt is
allowed. Attempts will be listed in order. Additionally, the objectives page
will be blank at this time.
g. To view the entire
table of interactions, scroll down to the bottom of the table and select the scroll
bar to scroll right and left on the page.
8. As
an alternative option, select the Users tab to view the attempts by
student.
9. If
desired and if needed, download a copy of the SCORM data in a CSV file to your
computer by selecting export data.
