StatCrunch is a web-based
statistical software to help students with some of the calculations that need
to be completed for statistical problems. StatCrunch software is included with
your Pearson textbook. Therefore, there is no additional cost to utilizing StatCrunch.
1. Once
in your statistics course in MyFIRE, select the Content & Assessments tab
at the top of the page in the navigation bar.
2. When
the page refreshes, scroll down and locate the desired assessment.
3. While
completing the assessment you will have two options available to load StatCrunch.
a. There will be a window icon next to the table.
Select the icon and choose either to Open in StatCrunch, Copy to Clipboard, or
Open in Excel.
b. At the bottom of the assessment page/window,
select StatCrunch.
4. A
pop-up window will appear and load the StatCrunch software.
5. Once
a data set has been loaded into the spreadsheet view, there are multiple
options:
a. StatCrunch - This option allows you to learn
more about StatCrunch, show or hide results, upload a new session, and download
your session.
b. Applets - This option allows you to add various
statistical functions to the data set.
c. Edit - This option allows you to choose various
edit functions to apply to the data set.
d. Data - This option allows you to manipulate the
data set in various ways.
e. Stat - This option provides more statistical
functions that can be applied to the data set.
f. Graph - This option allows you to add various
graph functions to the data set.
g. Help - This option allows you to access various
help options including getting started tutorials, examples, YouTube videos,
keyboard shortcuts, and a link to contact the support team for technical
difficulties.
h. MyStatCrunch - This option allows you to access all
your data, groups, surveys, results, and reports.
6. Each
time you are ready to leave the StatCrunch software, save the data set (under
the Data tab) before closing the browser page.
Alternative Accessing Instructions
1. Select
MyStatisticsLab Textbook and Resources module.
2. Select
MyLab Statistics Multimedia Library from the list.
3. The
page will refresh. Select the checkbox next to StatCrunch.
4. Select
Find Now.
5. Select
the StatCrunch resource beneath the textbook resource list.
6. A
pop-up will appear. Open the dataset drop-down menu and select the desired
dataset.
7. A
new tab will open and show the dataset within StatCrunch. See the screenshot
below for an example.
