Grammarly is an AI writing assistant tool that students are
able to download to their devices and may have the option to use on course
assignments. Grammarly assists with grammar, spelling, and writing style, and
also contains AI features for writing suggestions. Students should use these AI
features according to SEU’s Generative AI Assistance (GAIA) Policy, which is
also available in the University Catalog. This tutorial demonstrates how to
enable or disable the AI tools in Grammarly.
1. Sign into your Grammarly account.
2. Select Account from the navigation panel on the
left side of the screen.
3. When the page refreshes, select the Settings
icon.
4. Then, select Feature Customization from the
pop-out sidebar.
5. Turn the Generative AI slides off and on
according to your instructor's class AI policy (chance to link out to the SEU
AI policy).
Note: AI use is up to the instructor of the
course. If you are unsure of your instructor’s policy, please reach out to your
instructor.
