EdPuzzle is a tool that allows students to interact and
complete questions on videos that are within a course. Not all instructors will
utilize EdPuzzle. If EdPuzzle is utilized in your course, it is important to
watch the video from start to finish. This tutorial demonstrates how to access,
navigate, and complete an EdPuzzle video in MyFIRE.
1. Within the Content & Assessment page of the
course, locate and select the EdPuzzle link within the content.
2. When the page refreshes, select the play icon to
watch the video.
a. If needed, use the play bar underneath the video
to play, rewind, access closed captions, adjust the volume, and view the video
full screen.
Note: Students must watch the entire video and cannot skip ahead. If the
video is closed part way through, when the student returns to the video, the
video will restart near the point where the video was closed.
3. Near the end of the video, questions will appear
and need to be answered. When prompted, complete the questions on the right of
the video to the best of your ability.
a. If needing to review the video, select rewatch.
This option will take you back to the beginning of the video.
b. If skip is selected, you will be navigated back
to the end of the video and to the questions. We do not recommend
selecting skip.
Note: In order to pass the activity, students must earn 100% on the
EdPuzzle quiz.
c. Navigate through the questions by selecting next
question.
d. If you have any questions about the quiz
questions in the video, please reach out to your instructor. If needed, refer
to the contact your instructor tutorial for further directions.
4. On the last quiz question in the video, select
continue.
a. If you are navigated to the first quiz question
again after selecting continue, review your answer selections to the questions
before submitting.
5. When the EdPuzzle page refreshes, review what is
on your screen.
a. If ‘To Complete’ two options appear on the right
side of the screen, choose the desired option.
i. Option 1: Finish Watching the Video - If this
option appears, you will need to finish watching the video in its entirety.
ii. Option 2: You can retry this Lesson - If this
option appears, you need to finish watching the video in its entirety and
retake any missed questions.
Note: If needing to retake the quiz, you will only need to complete the
questions that you got wrong on your previous attempt(s). In order to pass the
activity, students must earn 100% on the EdPuzzle quiz.
1. If you cannot access the quiz questions, you
will need to rewatch the video.
2. When reattempting the quiz, questions that were
previously answered correctly will appear with a green background and a score
of 100/100 will appear in the top right corner of the question.
Note: The score that is visible on each question is the individual score
per question and not an overall total score.
3. If a question was answered incorrectly during
the previous attempt, the background will appear red with 0/100 score in the
top right corner of the question.
4. Select next question to navigate through the
list of questions in the retake.
6. Once done answering the questions, finish
watching the video in its entirety, including the closing credits. EdPuzzle
confirms you have attempted the quiz when a confirmation page appears. Review
the message on the confirmation page.
a. If an Answers Summary appears in the message,
select the drop-down arrow to the right of the Answers Summary. This will allow
you to review which questions you answered correctly and incorrectly.
i. If any of the questions are incorrect, select
retry lesson. Do not select submit. Once selected, you will navigated back to
the video.
ii. Review the video as needed. Once ready to
reattempt the quiz questions, select the desired quiz question on the right
side of the screen.
iii. Reattempt the questions that were previously
answered incorrectly by repeating steps 3 & 4 above. The background of the
questions will be white again, and you will need to fully cycle through each
question.
iv. Once done answering the questions, select submit
on the last question.
v. Then you are navigated to the first quiz
question again after selecting submit. Review your answer selections and scores
on each question. Refer to step 5.ii if needed.
vi. Once the quiz attempt has been reviewed, select
finish.
b. If the message confirms that you have successfully
completed the quiz without an Answers
Summary, select submit.
c. The EdPuzzle page will refresh. Review the total
quiz score. In order to pass the activity, students must earn 100% on the
EdPuzzle quiz.
