Student Missing?
- If students are missing in the Pearson
gradebook, this means that the student has not selected a Pearson link in the
MyFIRE course.
- Once the student selects a Pearson link and
accepts the End User Agreement, the student will receive access to the Pearson
content and then appear in the Pearson gradebook.
Student Access
- Students receive instant codeless access to
Pearson. If prompted with a sign-in page, please guide them not to create an
account and refer them to the troubleshooting steps.
- If students are receiving any errors accessing
Pearson, please confirm the following:
Troubleshooting Steps
- The student is using a desktop or laptop
computer. A tablet or phone is not supported.
- The student is using Chrome. This is the
preferred browser for Pearson.
- They have cleared all cache, cookies, browser
history, and restarted their browser.
- Please share this browser check link with the
student to ensure that the student is running the most up to date browser
settings.
- If the student still requires assistance, please
direct them to idtsupport@seu.edu.
- If available, please have the student provide
screenshots of the error and the steps taken prior to receiving the error.
Course Content
- The content has been created by a course matter
expert, therefore cannot be changed by adding or removing content.
- If you as the instructor would like to provide
extra practice, please share the worksheet or website link to the students
through the course communication tools (announcements or emails).
Due Dates
- No due dates are entered on the Pearson side.
The students are to follow the dates in the course syllabus and the MyFIRE
calendar. Please keep an eye on the students’ grades for unexpected changes.
- For example, if a student completes the homework
after the zero is entered, the zero will be overwritten with the grade from the
Pearson assignment.
- Based on your discretion, you may change the
grade back to a zero in the MyFIRE gradebook.
- All course assignment due dates are set in
MyFIRE according to the corresponding week in the syllabus. Students are
responsible for meeting the assessment deadlines.
Grant An Extension
- Extensions or an additional attempt can be
granted only on an individual basis for illness, a family need, going out to
town, or technical issues.
Enable Access
- Sometimes students are locked out of their
assessments and will need to regain access based upon instructor approval.
Typically, students will be locked out for leaving an attempt early, not
submitting it, or a weak internet connection.
- Please refer to the ‘How to Enable Access on a
Pearson Attempt’ tutorial for step-by-step instructions.
Pearson Grade Sync
- Pearson assignment grades are posted
automatically in the MyFIRE gradebook using Pearson grade sync.
- Please email idtsupport@seu.edu if grades are
not syncing after 24 hours.
Students Locked Out of Course
- Sometimes students are locked out of the course
due to an unsubmitted assessment in a previous or same course. When this
happens, please have the student provide you with a screenshot or request them
to email idtsupport@seu.edu for assistance.
If any further assistance is needed, please reach out to idtsupport@seu.edu.
