In some courses in MyFIRE, your instructor may include video
assignments for you to complete on the Content & Assessments page. If your
instructor requires, you will be able to peer review other students’
submissions to these assignments. This tutorial demonstrates how to peer review
a video assignment.
1. Login to MyFIRE and access the desired course.
2. Select Content & Assessments in the
navigation bar at the top of the page.
3. Select the module or submodule that houses the
video assignment.
4. Select the video assignment title. Note: The
title may not state that it is a video assignment. Refer to the instructor or
course syllabus for the exact title. However, video assignments are noted as an
external learning tool.
5. When the page refreshes, students will be able
to see a Peer Review section underneath their own submission’s evaluation
status. Note: If no other students have submitted to the assignment, this
section will be blank.
6. Students will be able to see the peer review due
date if one has been set by the instructor.
7. A progress bar at the top indicates how many
students you have reviewed. The required number of students to review is set by
your instructor.
8. Select the Peer drop-down menu to switch between
each student’s submission.
9. Select the video icon to view the student’s
submission. Once selected, the video will appear in a larger window and a
checkmark will appear next to Viewed Submission.
10. Once
you have viewed the submission, leave a comment by either typing in the
self-evaluation field for text feedback or by selecting the camera icon to the
left to record video feedback.
11. Once
you have left a comment, a checkmark will appear next to Commented.
12. The
comment will also include the time in the video at which you made the comment.
13. Edit
or Delete your comment by selecting either the pencil or trash can icons.
14. You
are also able to leave a five-star rating by selecting the desired number of
stars underneath the comment field.
15. Once
you select the number of stars, a checkmark will appear next to Evaluated.
16. The
progress bar will update as you review each student’s submission.
