MyFIRE offers the option of viewing students progress for a
specific course. Instructors can view the overall student engagement, or
engagement within a specific tool (i.e. content page, quizzes, assignments,
discussions, and surveys), and view the student’s course access history. This
tutorial shows how to view students’ class engagement.
1. Navigate to the desired course in MyFIRE.
2. Select Course Tools from the navigation bar at the top
of the page.
3. Select Classlist from the drop-down menu.
4. Select Class Engagement.
5. From the Class Engagement page, a list of the
students will appear showing a quick glance of how they are doing in the
course. The items that are shown are:
a. The current grade of the students.
b. When the student last visited.
c. How many discussion threads and replies students
have participated in.
d. Grade distribution of the course:
i. The instructor may click on any column in the
graph to view the grade breakdown of which students are performing at which
grade level.
ii. All or only one column can be selected at one
time. The list of corresponding students will update below.
6. If students have not accessed the course for
over 7 days, there will be a notification in the top left-hand side of the
page. Selecting it will pull up a list of the students who have been absent.
7. To take a deeper look into a student's activity, select the student's name.
8. The progress summary for the student will appear. From this page, you can look further into the student's
activity by selecting one of the following topics: Note: The statistics will
show in a fraction format with the numerator representing the student’s actions
within the course, and the denominator representing the number of topics
(assessments and content items) available to the student in the course which
can fluctuate based upon course restrictions.

b. Grades
c. Objectives (if applicable)
d. Content
i. Within the content area, instructors can view
how many times a student has visited the course content, the number of total
visits, time spent viewing the topics, which topics were viewed, which topics
were not viewed, and which topics were completed.

i. Surveys (if applicable)

9. For example, to view when the student has
accessed the course, select the Course Access tab on the left of the page. Then, on the right side of the page, the course access history for the student will
appear.
