As new courses are added to MyFIRE, it may
be difficult to
locate newly added courses. Once a new
course is located, users are able to pin
courses to help organize the courses on
the homepage to customize viewing
preferences. This tutorial demonstrates
how to successfully locate, pin, and
unpin a course in your MyFIRE account.
1. On
your user homepage, locate and select the
course selector tool at the top of the
page.
2. A
drop-down menu will appear that includes a
list of courses. Locate the desired course
by using the scroll bar.
3. Select
the pin icon to the right of the course
title to pin the course on your user
homepage to aid in locating the course
more quickly in the future. Note: The
pinned courses will show in the order
that they are pinned.
a. A
solid pin icon indicates that the course
is
pinned.
b. An
empty or outlined pin icon indicates
courses
that are not pinned.
4. Next,
refresh the homepage and locate the My
Courses area.
5. The
newly pinned course(s) will be visible
under
the My Courses area. Courses that have
already been pinned will have the pin
icon displayed in the upper right
corner.
6. If
for any reason you are unable to locate a
specific course, select the view all
courses link at the bottom of the My
Courses area.
7. When
the page refreshes, a search bar will
appear. Within the search bar, type any
piece of the course title or the course
code of the desired course, and select
enter.
8. If
needed, filter and sorting options are
available to help locate the desired
course. Once selected a drop-down menu
will appear.
a. If
needed, filter by semester, department, or
role.
i. Once
the desired filter option is selected, the
drop-down menu will expand to
display the additional filter options if
available. Select the additional
filter option(s) from the list by checking
the checkbox to the left of the
preferred option. Note: Some filter
options may not be available based on
your enrollment.
ii. Once
the preferred filters are selected, the
All Courses search page will refresh.
Locate the desired course.
b. If
needed, sort by the default settings,
course
name, course code, date pinned, last
accessed, or by the enrollment date.
i. Once
the preferred sorting option is selected,
the All Courses search page will
refresh. Locate the desired course.
9. Once
the desired course has been located, pin
the course to the user homepage by
hovering over the course and selecting the
ellipsis icon in the top right corner. A
drop-down menu will appear. Select
pin.
10. Once
done locating the course, select the X
icon in the top right corner of the
page. You will be navigated back to your
user homepage.
11. On
your user homepage in the My Courses area,
there will be two tabs to sort the
courses. The All tab will include all of
your courses including the pinned and
unpinned courses.
12. The
pinned tab will include only courses that
have been pinned. Note: The pinned
tab will not appear unless at least
one course has been pinned.
13. To
unpin a course, select the pin icon in the
top right corner of the desired
course.
