How
to Increase the Font Size for Respondus
While
taking a quiz or exam in MyFIRE that requires Respondus, students have the
capability of zooming in on their screen to increase the font size. This
tutorial demonstrates how to increase the size of the font while using
Respondus for an exam or quiz in MyFIRE.
1. For
a Windows computer:
a. Once Respondus LockDown
Browser has opened and launched, select the “i” icon in the top left
hand corner of the screen in the LockDown Browser toolbar.
b. A popup window will
open. Locate the Zoom Level drop-down menu.
c. When the drop-down menu
appears, select the desired zoom percentage preference. Example: 200%
(Zoom will magnify the entire page), including pictures.
d. Then select apply after making the changes to save the preferences. You can also use the keyboard
combination of “Ctrl” + “+”. Each time you tap the “+” key
while holding the “ctrl” key, the screen magnification will increase
until it reaches the maximum zoom level.
2. For
a Mac computer, the best option is to enable the built in zoom functionality
that comes with the operating system. This can be done by:
a. Navigating to System
Preferences
b. Then navigate to Accessibility
c. Select the Zoom menu item.
d. Then select the
checkbox for the option titled Use keyboard shortcuts to zoom
e. Once the Use keyboard
shortcuts to zoom is enabled, navigate to the quiz page in your course and
select Launch LockDown Browser. You will then be able to use the designated
keyboard shortcuts to zoom in on the contents of the quiz.
