In MyFIRE, students are able to access online publisher
material such as etextbooks, such as FlatWorld. As a student, you have instant
access to FlatWorld (the access is codeless). This tutorial demonstrates how to
access Flatworld in MyFIRE.
Note:
· Refer to step 4 for a troubleshooting guide.
· Do not double-click on FlatWorld links.
1. Navigate to the desired course in MyFIRE.
2. Select the Content & Assessments tab at the
top of the page in the navigation bar.
3. When the content page refreshes, select the
textbook link first to register in the FlatWorld course.
Note: Do not navigate straight to the
FlatWorld homework.
a. If you are unsure about which external learning
tool link is the textbook link, read the topic description. The homework
assignments will be designated. Upon selection, the tool will open to the
specified topic.
4. If a Flatworld login page appears after
selecting a link, do not log in or reset your password. Navigate away from the
screen and follow the troubleshooting steps below:
a. Ensure that you are using a computer.
b. FlatWorld’s preferred browsers are Chrome or
Firefox (Safari is not supported).
c. Check for browser updates.
d. Ensure that you allow pop-ups on your browser. Disable
ad blockers on your browser.
e. Clear all of your cookies, cache, and browser
history. Then close out the browser.
5. If you come across the error message below,
email helpdesk@seu.edu with the error message.
Note: Please wait for a response from the
support team before attempting to resolve the issue as trying to fix the issue
on your own could delay the resolution.
6. If you continue to experience accessing errors,
please email idtsupport@seu.edu and let them know you have completed the steps
above so we can assist you quickly. If available, please provide screenshots of
the error and the steps taken prior to receiving the error.
