There are times when quizzes need to be manually graded to
assess the learner’s understanding of the course’s content. This tutorial
explains how non-editing instructors can grade their students’ quiz attempts
within their courses in MyFIRE.
1. Locate the desired course in MyFIRE.
2. Select Instructor Tools from the navigation bar.
3. A drop-down menu will appear. Select Course
Admin.
4. When the page refreshes, locate and select
Quizzes.
5. When the page refreshes, select the drop-down
arrow next to the desired quiz.
6. When the dropdown menu appears, select Grade.
7. Scroll down and locate the desired student and
select the Attempt under the student’s name.
8. When the page refreshes, you will be able to
view the student’s attempt.
9. If there are multiple attempts allowed on the
quiz, select the desired attempt you would like to grade from the attempt
drop-down menu.
10. You
are also able to filter the attempts you would like to view by either those
pending evaluation or retaken questions only if these settings are enabled on
the quiz.
11. For
each question, you will be able to enter the score in the Score field. Some
questions may be auto-graded and a score may already be entered in this field.
For written response questions, this field may be blank.
12. For
each question, leave any desired feedback for the student in the Feedback
field.
13. On
the right side of the screen, you will be able to adjust the total Attempt
Grade. This field will auto-update as you grade each individual question.
Adjusting the Attempt Grade will override the individual question scores that
are automatically added together in this field.
14. Add
any overall feedback for the quiz attempt in the Attempt Feedback field.
15. View
the grade item for the quiz by selecting the grade item icon next to the
Attempt Grade field.
16. View
the quiz statistics by selecting the quiz statistics icon next to the Attempt
Grade field.
17. By
selecting the three dot icon next to Attempt Grade, you are able to edit the
quiz, preview the quiz, reset the quiz evaluation, and visit the quizzes event
log.
18. To
grade other students’ attempts on the quiz, select the left and right arrows in
the top right corner.
19. Once
you are finished grading the attempt, select Publish at the bottom of the
screen.
