Add a Graded Assignment to Your ePortfolio

ePortfolio is a personal portfolio tool for storing, organizing, reflecting on, and sharing items that represent your learning. You can include documents, graphics, audio files, videos, presentations, coursework, etc. that demonstrate your improvement or mastery in a certain area. You decide what items you want to include in your ePortfolio, how you want to organize them, and who you want to share them with. This tutorial demonstrates how to add a graded assignment to your ePortfolio.

1.    Navigate to the desired course in MyFIRE.

2.    Select class progress under Course Tools in the navigation bar.

3.    Once the page refreshes, scroll down and select assignments.

4.    Locate and select the title of the assignment that you would like to add to your ePortfolio.

5.    When the page refreshes, select the assignments breadcrumb that is listed above the assignment title.

6.    When the page refreshes, you will be able to view a complete list of assignments in the course. Locate the assignment you would like to add to your ePortfolio.

7.    Select unread/read in the Evaluation Status column.

8.    When the page refreshes, select add to ePortfolio under the assignment title.

9.    A pop-up window will appear. The (A) course title, the (B) learning tool type, the (C) assignment title, and the (D) estimated file size will be listed.

a.    Then scroll down the pop-up window by using the scroll bar.

b.    Ensure the Include assignment submission files with the artifact checkbox is checked. This option is checked by default. If this option is unchecked, the assignment grade and feedback will be added to the ePortfolio, but the file will not be added.

c.     Under the artifact details, title the artifact in the name field. We recommend adding the course code and the title of the assignment to the name for easy recognition when searching for the item at a later date.

d.    If desired, enter a description for the artifact. Note: The description will show to other users if the item is shared.

e.    Next, tag the artifact. Tags are keywords that allow for the artifact item to be easily searched within the ePortfolio tool as users are able to search for items with specific tags.

                                               i.     To create a single-word tag, type the word or words in the tag field.

ii.     To make a multiple-word tag, place double quotes around the entire phrase. For example: typing "winter project" makes the two words a single tag.

iii.     To make a private tag that only you can see, type an @ symbol in front of the tag. For example: typing @draft adds a private @draft tag to an item that has been shared with them.

iv.     To make a private multiple-word tag, put the @ symbol before the quotation marks, for example: @"rough draft".

f.      Once finished adding all of the desired tags, select add tag

10. Then select add at the bottom of the pop-up window.

a.    The pop-up window screen will then show a loading bar to show that the item is in the progress of being added.

11. Once the item has been added, the pop-up window screen will refresh to show an Artifact Created Successfully message. Select close at the bottom when finished.

12. Then, select the done blue button at the bottom of the View Feedback page for the assignment.

13. If you would like to view the graded assignment (artifact item) within your ePortfolio or confirm that it has been added, select the course tools tab at the top of the page in the navigation bar.

14. A drop-down menu will appear. Select ePortfolio.

15. MyFIRE ePortfolio is divided into 3 main pages: the ePortfolio Dashboard, the My Items page, and the Explore page. When the page refreshes, you will be on the ePortfolio dashboard page. The newly added graded assignment artifact will be visible under the my items filter.
