MyFIRE includes the capability to add prerequisites to quizzes within a course. The prerequisite is a release condition. Once students have completed the prerequisite task(s), the prerequisite condition will release, allowing students to access and attempt the quiz. This tutorial demonstrates how to add a release condition to a quiz in MyFIRE. Step 1. Locate the desired course in MyFIRE. Step 2. Select the instructor tools tab in the navigation bar. Step 3. Then select course admin from the drop-down menu. Step 4. Locate and select quizzes under the Assessment category.
Step 5. When the page refreshes, locate the desired quiz and select the drop-down arrow to the right of the quiz title. Step 6. A drop-down menu will appear. Select edit. Step 7. When the page refreshes, select the availability dates & conditions menu in the top right of the page. Step 8. The section will expand. Scroll down and locate Release Conditions. Select add release condition.
Step 9. A drop-down menu will then appear. Select create new to create a new release condition or add existing to add an existing release condition to the quiz. A. If Add Existing is selected, a pop-up window will appear. Select the checkbox next to the desired release condition and then select attach. i. Then skip to step 14.
B.  If Create New is selected to add a new release condition, a pop-up window will appear. Choose the desired condition type by selecting the condition type drop-down menu. Step 10. Next, choose the type of restriction that you would like to set on the quiz. Options include: A. Assignments. i. Submission to folder. ii. Receive feedback on submission. iii. Score on associated rubric. iv. No submission to folder. B. Awards. i. Award Earned. C. Checklist. i. Completed checklist. ii. Completed checklist item. iii. Incomplete checklist. iv. Incomplete checklist item. D. Classlist. i. Group enrollment. ii. Org unit enrollment. iii. Section enrollment. iv. Role in current org unit.
v. Date of enrollment in current org unit
E. Competencies. i. Competency achieved. ii. Learning objective achieved. iii. Score on associate rubric. iv. Competency not yet achieved. v. Learning objective not yet achieved. F. Content. i. Visited content topic. ii. Visited all content topics. iii. Not visited content topic. iv. Completed content topic. v. Not completed content topic. G. Discussions. i. Post authored in topic. ii. Score on associated rubric. iii. No posts authored in topic. H. Grades. i. Grade value on a grade item. ii. Score on associated rubric. iii. No grade received. iv. Released final grade score. I. Quizzes. i. Score on a quiz. ii. Completed quiz attempt. iii. Score on selected questions. iv. Score on associated rubric. v. No completed quiz attempt. J. Surveys.
i. Completed survey attempt. ii. No completed survey attempt. Step 11. Select the Condition Details drop-down menu, and choose the desired condition details. Note: The available options will change depending on the release condition type chosen in step 10. Step 12. Select create to attach the release condition to the quiz. Step 13. The newly created release condition will be visible under the Release Conditions section.
Step 14. Select save and close at the bottom of the quiz editor tool.
